They're actually much scarier up close.
Poor Newt is finding out the hard way that going against The Cult can be dangerous, even when they’re hellbent on mass suicide. That’s the funny thing about cults, they can be quite particular about certain things.
The Cult will not tolerate dissent…
The Cult will have obedience…
The Cult will have purity…
or The Cult will destroy you.

Huh, you think that’s bad? That’s nothing compared to the Obama cult. Hell, it’s tougher to be a Leftie now than it was under Bush.

I would respectfully disagree, though I understand your frustration. I have quite a few issues with the President’s policies as I’ve openly stated here many times, but I would not equate him with W. The most difficult part of having “our guy” in the White House, beyond the policy differences, is that governing is hard. It was easy to call Bush a criminal and lob artillery at such an easy target, but it’s a different thing when the guy you support seems to give away positions which matter a great deal to you. Some of us throw up our hands and say to hell with it, others make excuses and attack those who speak out. I will always defend the President from conservatives smear merchants, but I have no problem photoshopping him into a care bear costume if I feel he’s being to “bipartisan”.
I guess the reality is that you gotta play the long game in politics and make small changes locally if you want major changes down the road. That’s how you build a good bench for national offices.
